Find answers to common questions about getting started, managing your summaries and using TurboSum's features.
Getting started
What is TurboSum, and do I need an account?
TurboSum turns long content into clear summaries and offers web search with cited sources. Sign in to use the App and keep your summaries in History. You can browse informational pages, including this FAQ, and use their Read Aloud feature without signing in.
What content can I summarize?
Paste text or a webpage URL, enter a YouTube link, or upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT document. The File tab also accepts supported audio and video, including MP3, MP4 and M4A. Content must be accessible and readable; an image-only scanned PDF may not contain text that TurboSum can extract. The Search tab provides a web-grounded answer with cited sources that you can open and review.
Can I choose the summary format, length and language?
Yes. Choose a short, medium or long summary and one of seven formats: Bullet Points, Action Items, Abstract, Detailed Summary, Executive Brief, Technical Breakdown or Article Style Overview. Select your output language, or use Auto. The English and Traditional Chinese website settings are separate from the language you choose for a summary.
How does the Chrome extension work with my account?
The extension lets you summarize webpages and supported text-based PDFs while browsing. Website and extension sign-in synchronization keeps both connected to the same TurboSum account. Your account's summary allowance and History are shared. Sign out of TurboSum when you finish using a shared computer.
Plans and limits
What is included in Free and TurboSum Pro?
The Free plan starts with a three-day trial of five summaries per day, then continues with one summary per day. TurboSum Pro includes 1,000 summaries per month. The App displays your current allowance. Visit Plans and pricing for the available paid plans and current prices.
What are the content and upload limits?
Text, webpages and extracted document content can contain up to 200,000 source tokens. A token is a small unit of text, not necessarily a word, so the App estimates the token count for you. Uploaded files can be up to 200 MB, and supported audio, video and YouTube content can be up to 120 minutes long. Oversized content must be shortened or split into smaller parts; upgrading does not remove these content limits.
What is the difference between a subscription and a term plan?
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Fixed-term plans are one-time purchases that do not renew automatically. Use the account settings menu to open the billing portal and manage eligible subscriptions. Check the Pricing and Terms pages for the details that apply to your plan.
History and privacy
How do I keep, export or delete my summaries?
History keeps up to 1,000 summaries for your account. When space is needed, the oldest unprotected summary is removed. Protect important entries to prevent automatic removal; if all 1,000 are protected, unprotect or delete one before saving another. You can export summaries as TXT or PDF and manually delete entries, including protected ones after confirmation. Export a separate copy if you need a permanent record.
What happens to my uploaded files and personal data?
TurboSum uses your content to provide the features you request. Uploaded files are normally deleted after successful processing, cancellation or a confirmed permanent failure. Interrupted or retryable uploads have a recovery backstop that expires them within 19 days. Generated summaries and related metadata can remain in your account's History. The Privacy Policy explains processing providers, retention, account data and your privacy options.
Can I rely on a summary without checking the source?
AI summaries can contain mistakes or omit context. TurboSum uses source checks for supported summary flows, but this does not guarantee that every result is correct. Review the original content and search citations, especially before making medical, legal, financial or other important decisions. A failed source check may ask you to retry instead of presenting an unchecked summary.
Read Aloud and help
How do I use Read Aloud?
Select Read Aloud to listen to the displayed content. The player provides play and pause, progress seeking, volume and Close controls. Word highlighting and the ball show the current spoken word. Scroll freely; playback does not move the page. This FAQ is read in the current website language. Summary audio uses the summary's language when a supported voice is available. Switching language or leaving the page stops this page's playback.
Why might a summary or Read Aloud request fail?
A page may be inaccessible, a file may contain no readable text, content may exceed a limit, or a service may be temporarily unavailable. Longer files and videos can take more time to process. Check the message shown in the App before retrying. For audio, confirm your connection and browser playback permission, then use Retry if it is offered. Read Aloud also has usage limits, and some languages may not have an available voice.
How can I get help?
Use the Contact page or email support@kycglobal.one. Describe what you were trying to do, the error message and your browser. Include a source URL only if you are comfortable sharing it. Never send your password, sign-in codes, payment card details or confidential source documents.
