1. Data Collection & Single Purpose

TurboSum has a single purpose: to provide instant AI-generated summaries of web content to help users conduct research and manage information efficiently. TurboSum is currently focused on users in Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, and India, though users in other locations may be able to access the service unless access is otherwise restricted. We collect information you provide, such as your email address, account authentication data, and usage data. When website-extension sign-in synchronization is enabled, the Chrome extension reads and writes TurboSum authentication and session information only on turbosum.com and in Chrome storage. This keeps turbosum.com and the Chrome extension signed in to the same TurboSum account and propagates sign-in and sign-out between them. The Chrome extension does not read authentication information from other websites, and this information is not used for advertising. When you explicitly trigger the 'Summarize' action, the Chrome extension collects the active tab's text content, title, and URL or, for a supported PDF page, downloads the PDF bytes needed to process the document. This data is sent to our secure backend solely to generate the requested summary, provide account features such as quota and history, support source chat as described below, and provide optional Read Aloud audio. PDF bytes may be staged temporarily in extension-private browser storage and AWS storage while the requested summary is processed, subject to the uploaded-file retention rules below. For account security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and active-session limits, our backend may also process your IP address, User-Agent/browser details, browser language header, authentication/session identifiers, and a hashed coarse network/browser fingerprint derived from limited request metadata. This security/session information is not used for advertising. We do not store original HTML webpage content permanently.

2. Data Usage, Processors & Non-Disclosure

We use your data solely to generate requested summaries, provide source chat, History, and Read Aloud features, synchronize TurboSum sign-in and sign-out between turbosum.com and the Chrome extension, manage account limits, improve reliability, and protect the service. Generated summaries, titles, source URLs, format metadata, and timestamps may be stored on our servers for authenticated history. The Chrome extension may also store your latest summary, preferences, TurboSum authentication token, session identifier, sign-in synchronization state, playback state, and temporary account-bound summary-processing state locally using the chrome.storage API. Processing state for webpages, YouTube videos, and PDFs may include job identifiers, source URLs, titles, progress or error details, and a completed webpage summary awaiting display, allowing the popup to show or recover a request after it closes. Authentication and session information used for synchronization is shared only between turbosum.com, the TurboSum extension, and TurboSum's authentication services as needed to authenticate your account. To provide TurboSum, we may share the minimum necessary content and metadata with service providers acting on our behalf: Google and Amazon account sign-in services when you choose optional social login; Google Gemini/Google AI for AI summarization, chat answers and verification, and media or video analysis; Google Search for related public-topic research; Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, authentication, storage, logging, and backend services; Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing, and customer portal services; Microsoft text-to-speech services for optional Read Aloud audio; and YouTube or YouTube transcript providers when you ask TurboSum to process YouTube videos. Your uploaded content is not used to train global public AI models without your explicit consent. TurboSum's use of information received from Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. KYC Global Pte. Ltd. does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or uploaded documents to third parties. Data is used exclusively to provide the core functionality of TurboSum. We do not use user data for creditworthiness, advertising targeting, or any purpose unrelated to content summarization.

3. Data Security & International Processing

We implement industry-standard security measures and encryption to protect your personal information during transmission. TurboSum uses cloud infrastructure and third-party service providers that may process or store data in countries where they operate, including outside your country of residence. If you use TurboSum from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with data protection laws different from those in your location. While no method of transmission is 100% secure, we prioritize the safety of your data above all else.

4. Retention, Deletion & User Rights

Authenticated history stores generated summaries, titles, source URLs, formats, and timestamps until you delete them or until TurboSum automatically prunes older entries beyond the latest 1,000 summaries for your account. You can delete individual summaries from the History page. Uploaded files are used only to process your request. TurboSum normally deletes an uploaded file after successful processing, cancellation, or a confirmed permanent failure. If processing is interrupted or must be retried, a cloud-storage recovery backstop automatically expires the upload within 19 days. File-processing job metadata and recoverable temporary results may also be retained for up to 19 days; limited cleanup markers may be retained longer only to remove temporary processing resources held by service providers. Operational service logs are retained for 30 days and are used for reliability, security, abuse prevention, and debugging; we do not intentionally log full uploaded files or full source text. Account records are kept while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and backup integrity. Billing records and subscription metadata are handled by Stripe and may be retained as required for payment, tax, accounting, chargeback, and legal obligations. You may request access, export, correction, deletion of your summaries, deletion of your account, or other privacy assistance through the Contact page or by emailing support@kycglobal.one. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited records when required by law, payment obligations, or legitimate security needs.

For new summaries created on the TurboSum website or by extension v1.0.13 and later with source chat enabled, we save the extracted source text or transcript used for summarization in private AWS storage so you can later ask questions about that summary. We do not keep original uploaded file bytes or webpage HTML for chat. When a video has no transcript, saved-content answers use its summary only. To answer and verify questions, we send your question and the necessary saved material and conversation context to Google Gemini/Google AI. Chat can explain the saved material and research related public topics. Related web research sends limited public-topic queries derived from your question and context to Google Search, rather than sending the full saved source, summary, or chat history to web search. Questions, answers, short source citations, verified web reference titles and URLs, reference check timestamps, answer processing times, and a retrieval index may be stored with your summary. Saved web references can be reopened with the conversation. Google search suggestions and their display HTML are shown only with the current answer and are not saved to your conversation. The extension stores unsent chat drafts and popup state in browser-session storage so you can resume after closing the popup. Each summary can have one active conversation; deleting it removes its messages and saved web references and lets you start another. Deleting a summary, automatic pruning beyond 1,000 History entries, or deleting your account also removes its saved source, retrieval index, and conversation. Older extension summaries without saved chat context remain view-only. We do not intentionally log full source text or full chat messages.
